Don't Forget About Leap Year!
The year 2008 is a leap year and you will need to edit the General Ledger Accounting Period Maintenance on the General Ledger Definition Menu. Change the field for February from 02/28 to 02/29. This will come into play when you close the month of February. If the date is not changed, any transactions posted on the last day of February will not be included on the End of Month closing reports.
Trodat has joined with Mindware Corporation to create an interface between their Utypia website and TOP. The interface allows you to import orders entered on their website into TOP as an open order. The orders are automatically emailed from the Utypia website in a format ready for importing into TOP. No awkward stand alone program is required and the interface is free of charge.
Mindware Corporation has had customers request a way to communicate with other users in order to share information about how they are using TOP for different reasons or what features they use to better server their business needs. This information can be shared throughout the industry and benefit others who may not be aware of the many TOP features and upgrades.
A mailing list for TOP IMIA users has been established for this purpose and you can post to this list by sending your email to mdlist@mindwarecorp.com. Each month you will receive an email with your login information and password. If you want to change your password or unsubscribe from the list you can send your request to Mdlist-request@mindwarecorp.com with the word HELP in the subject or in the body of the email.
Normally, Mailman will remind you of your mindwarecorp.com mailing list password once every month, although you can disable this if you prefer. It will also include instructions on how to unsubscribe or change your account options. There is a button on your options page that will email your current password to you if you need a reminder.
As of February 1, 2008, the Total Order Plus monthly support contract rates will be adjusted. The hourly billable programming rate will increase to $120.00 per hour, the TOP Hosted FTP Backup will increase to $30.00 a month for the first company and $12.00 for each additional company. The new backup rates will include storing a copy of all TOP PDF files (registers, journals, etc).
Things You May Not Know About TOP
The Total Order Plus Menu System uses the up and down arrow keys to
access a particular menu item or you may select a menu item by entering the
letter+ the Enter key to the left of the menu selection. A number also
corresponds to each letter on the menu. For example, to select the menu item
B, you can also enter the number 2. This eliminates having to use the Enter
key after each selection.
Each menu can have password protection or you may set passwords for an individual menu item. You may set a password by using Password Maintenance on each module's Definition Menu.
At any menu selection, with the exception of the TOP Main Menu, press F4 to return to the previous menu, F8 to return to the TOP Main Menu or press F5 to change the module processing date. Enter the date in MMDD format (no slashes). The corresponding day of the week will display and the system will insert the current century and year. This date is used for reporting and posting entries to the General Ledger.
