May 21-23, 1999 The 1999 Total Order Plus Eastern Conference was held May 21-23 at the Sheridan Crystal City in Arlington, VA. The weekend began with a 'Get Acquainted' Happy Hour at the West Court lobby bar beginning at 6 p.m. Friday evening. Saturday morning began with a continental breakfast in the Crystal III Banquet Room, followed by presentations on Total Order Plus 2000. A deli buffet lunch was served at noon. Early afternoon was spent on ODBC data base applications, UnForm and JSB MultiView 2000. At 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the group went on a tour of Capitol Marking Products, Arlington, VA, and the Baumgarten Company sales office in downtown Washington, DC. Saturday evening dinner was enjoyed at Clyde's Restaurant in Georgetown. Sunday morning was a breakfast buffet served in the Garden Court Restaurant and was followed by round table discussions by all in attendance. Attending the conference were Pat Staudt, Allegheny Marking Products, David Rowan, Capitol Marking Products, James, Mila and Laurie Baturin, Baumgarten Company, Tom Kirchner, Roanoke Stamp & Seal, Marc Shapiro, Metro Stamp & Seal Co., Richard McCoy, Southern Stamp & Stensil, Ron Kinney, Kinney Stamp & Engraving, Bob and Kathleen Cheney, R&D Rubber Stamp and Mark Deeb, Stewart Superior, LaPorte, IN. The weekend was hosted by Archie and Liz Tucker, Mindware Corporation. Mindware hosts two regional conferences at various locations throughout the United States for companies currently using TOP and for companies interested in becoming a member of the TOP User's Group. The conference sessions feature the latest on TOP and the newest technology for the marking industry. Round table discussions allow users to share information within a non-competitive atmosphere. At the same time, it allows Mindware to gain valuable feedback from their customers in a continuing effort to improve their products.
